Restoration and conversion specialist City & Country Group’s development, The Manor at Herringswell, near Newmarket, has added to its award tally for 2007, winning two accolades at the esteemed What House? Awards.
The Manor was awarded a Gold Award for Best Renovation and a Silver Award for Best Landscape Design. The What House? Awards, held annually at The Grosvenor Hotel in London, are known as the ‘Oscars of the housebuilding industry’.
Judges’ comments included: “The renovation and conversion has been undertaken with a lightness of hand and strength of imagination that many would do well to study.”
Tim Sargeant, Chief Executive of City & Country Group, comments: “We are extremely proud to have received these awards and it is incredibly gratifying to see such high praise from the judges. We have taken great care to retain as much of the historic fabric of the buildings as possible and these awards are testament to the hard work and skill of everyone who has played a part in the restoration and conversion works.”
Set within 8.4 acres of glorious grounds, The Manor and its surrounding buildings are being painstakingly restored and converted into 53 houses and apartments.
